I have two possible suggestions for you.

1. Some Germans in Canada who came from Volhynia called themselves "White Russian". This was simply part of the family lore and it was not accurate because they clearly only had lived in Volhynia. So, your information about White Russia might just be part of the story.

2. There were settlements of Germans in the southern part of Belarus, west of Pinsk and north of the remote Volhynia settlements of Gross and Klein Gluscha. One of the possibilities for Osipowka which Gerhard mentioned is located there, Osipoviche at N52/08 and E24/49. Perhaps this is the correct location.
