One must be careful about the research on this Boese family. The original posting was clearly about the Mennonite families, Boese and Eck, who settled early in the Karlswalde region and later at Heinrichsdorf.

In my previous message I mentioned the Mennonite village Zabara. This village also has the name Dosseldorf. It is interesting to note that some of the villages associated with the Boese name (according to the records referred to by Regina - Fuerstendorf, Blumenthal, Marianowka, etc.) are within a few km of the early Mennonite settlements around Karlswalde and Zabara.

I have seen this connection before and my unanswered question has been, "Are these Lutheran Boese families related to the Mennonite Boese families that lived there earlier?" I am not directly related to these families but would like to find someone who can do the research to find the answer to this question.
