Hilde Moeller introduced me to you and said you had some knowledge about Schmidt's ... She also mentioned a book by Werner Schultz that might be helpful to me. Is that available in libraries, is it in English and where can I purchase it?

I have one ancestral family, (among many from there) that went to Volhynia around 1865. The Johann Michael Schmidt family; I believe his wife Anna Elizabeth (Haufe) may have died before they went there or shortly after. Two of his adult children went with him and married there. Gottlieb married Christine Gering,(1872) and Ernestine Wilhelmine married Carl Scheulze (1866) in Rozyszcze Parish. I am not sure what happened to Ernestine, but Gottlieb, wife and son of 11, along with Michael emigrated to Wisconsin in 1890. (Gottlieb is my Great Grandfather)

J. Michael's father was Johann who married Anna Dorthea Schulzen. Johann's parents were Andreas and Dorothea (Elftmann). I can't find out much about them as I don't have access to the earlier films.
