Hello,

I am very late to this conversation. However, My "STERLING" family, as they were found in the Rozyszcze Parish Record Book in Volhynia, appears to be of the Czech Exulants. They lived in Romanowka-Nemir, Szczurzyn, Luck, Volyn. It is noted in the church book entries that the family was Protestant-Reformed.

For years, we have know my 3x great-grandparents as Wilhlem Sterling & Johanna Burisch. I recently discovered that Wilhelm Sterling was born August Wilhelm STERLIK in Zelow, son of Matthias Sterlik (who was the son of Johann Stehlik and Anna Miller). Johanna BURISCH was born as Joana Karlovna Burešová daughter of Karel Bures and Elizabeth Jelínková.

August Wilhelm Sterling's half-brother, Joseph (son of Matthias and Anna Binar) also lived in Romanowka-Neimer. He was married to Johanna Pospischil and later to Marie Hennig.

I have found these indexes helpful for linking Zelow to Volhynia.

I hope to connect to others related to these families.
