Hallo Dave,

Hi Irene

I hope the attachment will attach on this email. In 1924 Karl Schultz was was traveling from Canada to USA. In the boarder crossing his documents state that he was married to Ida Ziebart who was born 3 July 1874 I have more information on Ida Ziebart and her family if that will help. Karl did have children but they were all born in Canada and the USA.

I have all the documents recording their births and following them on the census documents to their deaths.

I stated that Karl arrived 1891 but the 1924 Canada to USA boarder crossing and 1916, and 1921 Canadian Census states he arrived in really 1893 on the SS Darmstadt going to New York.

Thank you so much for all your help.

Hallo David,

Hello Irene

I have answered some of your questions below:

What happened to this son and the first woman?
I do not know yet what happened to Karl Schultz's first wife Ernestine (26 years old) and their son Ernst (10 months old).

Karl visits his son in Detroit in 1924 - is it the same?
Yes it is the same William that is on the 1895 Kansas Census from above.

Is the daughter Ida from the first marriage?
Yes, Ernst, William and Ida are from the first marriage. She was born about 1901 and Karl lived until 1902 in the USA. IDA Schultz was Born 6 Oct 1898 Died 25 Feb 1979 Pontiac Michigan. She married Harold C Parlin.

When did Karl SCHULTZ and Ida ZIEBART get married?
I do not know this date or location yet.

So the Zhitomir region is going to very hard or impossible to get any good birth, marriage or death information for the Baptist?

Thank you so much for all of your help the different name spelling of Karl Schultz to Carl Schule was very helpful.

Any other guidance and help would be very much appreciated.

Dave,

Why didn't you post all that when I was asking for more information? It feels like I have been wasting my time in looking for details on your family.

the different name spelling of Karl Schultz to Carl Schule was very helpful.

SCHULE ist not a different spelling, it was a misreading by the indexer. On the document, the name is written SCHULC.

For more help finding Karl's marriage record you can subscribe on SGGEE's mailing list. Maybe someone on the list has some knowledge on Baptist marriage records in Canada.

Irene,

It is my first time on the site I did not know that I was supposed to post everything I have all at one time when I needed more information. I hope you don't feel like you have wasted your time you have been very helpful in helping me find my ancestors and that is a very important thing.

For example it was not until you helped me that now I know that all the German Baptist were in one area and that the indexer could misread the names on the documents. And that some people that I thought maybe my ancestors are indeed my ancestors. These are very important things for someone who is not as familiar with the tools available as say some others. So don't think you were wasting your time because you were not.

Thank you again for all your time and help.

Dave
