I do not know if you will have any luck finding the grave of your grandfather. In Germany, the cemeteries usually hold the remains for about 25 or 30 years, prolonged by 25 years if family members want to maintain the burial site. If not, it will be reused. There is no "perpetual care".

You may, of course, find his name in the cemetery records if you are lucky enough to locate the cemetery he is buried in.
