My grandma is Ida Jüngling, born in wolhynien. Now she is 90 years old. She once told me, that she visited her Family in America. Does her name mean anything to you?

Yes, my family has quite an interesting story. My grandfather Gustav was born in the year 1906 in Polish Volhynia in the small village of Milaschev (just East of Kolki, kreis Lutsk). His grandfather Jakob had come there I'm guessing around 1870 from either Poland or Germany. During WWII my grandfather and his family were resettled in German occupied Poland and given a farm to work. Later, he was drafted into the German army. After the war ended my grandmother Elli was stranded in East Germany while my grandfather was in West Germany. Gustav then located his wife, got across the border and smuggled his entire family (wife and seven children)back into West Germany. The German government then resettled my family on the island of Baltrum. The family lived there until 1951 when they left for America and settled in Berrien County, Michigan.

I am living in Northwest Germany (East Frisia) in a small town [Esens], 5 km to the Northsea (German Sea) and the isles. One Isle is Baltrum, about 500 inhabitants, but very popular tourist isle.

They have an "Ortsfamilienbuch" / heritage book, last year out of stock, but 2nd edition in 2009.

I am a member of the local genealogy group and was interested in this isle.

Reading about the birth of Reinhart Gustav JÜNGLING in 1948 (three years after WW II) and that his parents married in Lubomicho. I wanted to localize this place and thought about the long distance and the reasons to go to such poor and (1948) lonely East Frisian Island and what might happend to them. Had the feeling, its an interesting story.

...and hoped, someone might use this seldom information.

Als ich vor wenigen Wochen mich mit Don Miller traf, schwärmte er von den vielen Einträgen in unserem Forum.

Für den Ort LUCYNOW fand ich keine eindeutige Lösung.

Das ist für mich nicht schwer , da Lucinow bekannt war als Zentrum einer recht großen Baptistengemeinde. Der Ort lag ca. 30 km nordöstlich von Rowno und ist auf verschiedenen Karten zu finden, z.B. hier:

Um LUBOMICHO zu finden, such doch mal die umliegenden Karten ab. Möglicherweise wird der Ort aber auch anders geschrieben, dann wird es schwierig.

Filialgemeinden (was bei den Baptisten Stationsgemeinden oder Stationen heißt) von Lucinow hat Don Miller in seinem Buch In the Midst of Wolves - The History of German Baptists in Volhynia, Russia 1863-1943 aufgelistet:

Da hätten wir schon mal zwei Orte, die vielleicht in Frage kommen könnten.

Sohn:

Den Ort LUBOMICHO konnte ich weder beim "googeln" noch bei "shtetlseeker"
entdecken.

Für den Ort LUCYNOW fand ich keine eindeutige Lösung.
