Parents were Andrew Mantei and Regina Voth and August was born April 10.1875 Volingen, Poland. August and Lydia Zuter married October 24 1900 in Matildrof Poland.

August Mantei's siblings were

Ludwig, lost in the war (Russian Army)
Andrew who immigrated to the US after being called up into the Russian Army.

I am doing some research on my family history. My grandfather was August Mantei born in Poland April 10,1875 to Andrew Mantei and Regina Voth. He married Lydia Zuter in 1900 in Matildorff Poland. They immigrated to Canada in 1907 and I have been informed he had a sister named Lydia who married a Andrew Lachmann and they resided in Saskatchewan. Could you help me in understanding some of the history in my family please.

I have Anna Karolina Lachmann daughter of Karl Lachmann born in 1841 which would have made her 34 years of age at this birth. It would also seem to fit with Karolina having been married twice.

Die Schwester des Johann Gottfried ist eine Karoline, welche in 1.Ehe mit

mit Ludwig Düsterhöft. Über die 1.Ehe haben wir mit Andreas gemeinsame Vorfahren.

I can add to this information that Andreas, Lydia and three children sailed on the S.S. Saxonia Oct. 1907

Parents of Samuel and Andreas were Johann Gottfried Lachmann and Julianne Josefa Wolf. I have names of next generation of parents as well as other siblings of Samuel and Andreas.

Samuel's first wife was Alvine Mroch and so far I have been unable to get any other information about her. Family lore says she was from Alsace Lorraine, but I cannot substantiate it. She died in 1902 and is buried in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Samuel and Alvine were my great grandparents. Samuel immigrated to USA at age 28 via the S.S. Veendam, sailing out of Rotterdam.
