I found information about Herman Lausten introducing this version of the Church of God on https://gemeindegottes.de/en/history. But there seems to be different versions.
I am sure your info is more correct. It did surprise me that it didn’t have older roots in Germany and Volhynia.

Hallo Helen,

die Gemeinde Gottes, auch Fußwascher genannt, gab es seit den 1900er Jahren in Wolhynien. Zu den Zarenzeiten hatten sie keine Zulassung und hielten sich an die bestehenden Baptistengemeinden.

Im polnischen Teil Wolhyniens war die Gemeinde Gottes ab den 1920er Jahren zugelassen und gründete mehrere Gemeinden. Weitere Infos im VolynWiki.

In den Publikationen dieser Kirchgemeinde sind weitere Informationen zu finden. Der Missionsbote enthält eine Vielzahl älterer Reiseberichte und in der Evangeliums Posaune sind die teilweise sehr ausführlichen Nachrufe und Angaben zu den Familien aufschlußreich:

The Church of God originally organised in the USA and was introduced in Germany ca 1936 and spread more extensively after the War. There nay have been church revival meetings in Volhynia but they were frowned upon by the government.
It is more likely your family converted from the Lutheran faith after this date.
There may be a Gemeinde Gottes archive in Stuttgart- where it was first established
My grandparents converted after they emigrated to Canada after the war.

Die Taufe von Robert SCHULZ *1903 findet man im Kirchenbuch der lutherischen Gemeinde Tutschin 1904, Seite 79, Nr. 389. Es ist auf Russisch geschrieben, online unter der Nr. 18 auf der Seite des Archivs Rowno:

Hello,

I'm trying to track down a couple of records for my family that I have been unable to locate in the Polish State Archives. I believe this may be due to the German Church of God not registering births and deaths in state records during that time. I have read that there are some family records kept outside of this and I may have some luck in this forum.

I'm looking for records from Mydzk, Kreis, Kostopol, Volhynia for both my grandfather and his father. My grandfather, Theodor Schulz, was born November 15, 1924 and his father, Robert Schulz, was born January 5, 1903/1904 and died November 18, 1930. Robert's dates are based on my grandfather's memory as there were no written records of him that survived.

I'd greatly appreciate any help in this area. I have looked through Genetka, AGAD 439, Odessa, etc. and have come up short for this time period. Oddly enough, I was able to find older records, however I believe this may be because the Church of God had not been created yet.
