Gustav Nachtigall (geb. 1865) war ein Bruder von Gottfried Nachtigall (verheiratet mit Wilhelmine Schattschneider).
Gustav heiratet Amanda Kinas 1888. Und bekam 5 Kinder (meines Wissens nicht mehr).
Eines von den hieß ebenfalls Gustav, und dieser starb Seemen. Meine Mathilda muss in einem Verwandschaftsverhältnis zu ihm stehen.
Meine Oma Liselotte (die in Kittnau, heute Kitnowo geboren worden ist) erzählte, Mathilda sei die jüngste von 14 Geschwistern und starb an einer Erkrankung in einem harten Winter ebenfalls in Seemen.
Also waren wohl einige Nachtigall Frauen besonders produktiv:)

Eure Seite bringt mich zum weinen.
Ich forsche seit Jahren zu meiner Familie auf der Suche nach meiner jung verstorbenen UrGroßmutter Mathilda Nachtigall. Sie hatte ein kleines Baby, das war meine Oma Liselotte oder später auch Leokadia. Mathilda muss +- 1913 geboren worden sein. Und sie lebte zuletzt mit Familie Nachtigall in Seemen (Saminek) \Ostpreußen
Mein Ansatz startet bei Gustav Nachtigall gestorben in Seemen. Meine ganze Suche führte zu euch und der Erkenntnis das ich aus der Linie Gustav Nachtigall/Amanda Kinas stammen muss. Doch meine Mathilda habe ich noch nicht gefunden. Ich habe ein einziges Bild, von dem ich ausgehe, dass Sie es ist und ihr letztes Bild kurz vor dem Tod war.
Ich sage erstmal Hallo, staune, forsche weiter und bin erstmal weiterhin einfach gespannt:)

Thank you for replying and the information. Great news. I have found more information.

Your Martha Nachtigall born 1902 married Adolf Neumann in 1923. Adolf parents were Friedrich Neumann 1849-1933 and Paulina Golke 1857-1892. Friedrich is my 2nd great grand uncle.

My grandpa Samuel Bohn (1908-1995) is in the back row. Third from the right. Age 14.

I am curious if anyone else knows any of the kids in the photo?

This is the picture I have but I don’t know if Benjamin is in it. The quality isn’t the greatest that I was sent. My great uncle Rudolf Bohn we believe is front row, second from the left. I also just acquired a Michalowka confirmation class photo taken I believe 1923 as that’s when my grandpa Samuel Bohn was confirmed at age 14. I have the confirmation index. There are many kids in it. Maybe you or others would know who is in it with him?!

I can’t seem to figure out how to upload the pic here. I clicked upload on the right but then it takes me to a new tab where I upload and click ok. Then that’s it. I need help please.

My grandpa Samuel Bohn was from Michalowka. I believe they knew your Benjamin N as I have an old letter from March 18 1939 written from my great Aunt Marta Bohn (my grandpa sister) saying:
“ Benjamin Nachtigal`s wife has also died she became very sick over the winter and passed away.”
There is an old hand drawn Michalowka map by someone that has Benjamin’s house (12) on it along with Martha Neumann geb Nightingale house (13). My family houses are 1 and 2. Do you have this map?

Also I just acquired an old photo (I assume taken in the 1930s in Michalowka) of my great uncle Rudolf with the brass band he played in. He died in 1940. Maybe you’d like to look at it to see if Benjamin or anyone else you know is in it?! The photo is blurry though.

I have an old hand drawn map of Michalowka I received from Diethard and it has Nachtigall on it:

Benjamin Nachtigall house 12 (your relative?)
Marta Neumann geb Nachtigall house 13 (is she related to you?)

My 2nd Great grandmother was Caroline Neumann (born 1846) and she lived in Michalowka. Her 2nd husband Julius Bohn (my 2nd GG) died in 1904 and she re-married Freidrich Kretschmer. Her death date is unknown and I have no clue who Marta Nachtigall married for a Neumann but it could be a relation.

Our families certainly knew each other in this small town as we lived in the same town the same time. My Bohn family (my grandpa Samuel Bohn born 1908) lived in house 1 with is parents Martin and Pauline Bohn. I can send you the map if you would like.There is many in Michalowka that were related to my Bohn family.
