Re: DORN from Zhitomir (Antwort)

Martin,

I dont have information on the Dorn family from Zhitomir aside from what is on the net. You can search the St. Petersburg birth records yourself at http://sggee.org/StPeteBirth (try Surname: Dorn, Mother's Surname: Schmidt). Only two children of Karl DORN and Pauline SCHMIDT show up: August and Eduard.

The original records are at http://labs.familysearch.org/. They have some more information: occupation of Karl (not his middle name as assumed), name of the pastor, names of Paten (godparents).

SGGEE has more on Johann Karl DORN's family in their database at the Members Only Area, going back to a little village in Bavaria. The German telephone directory shows that there are still a lot of Dorns in the area... Happy Ancestor Hunting
